MCG Biography

I founded Matt Chase Group in the summer of 2000 while attending Berklee College of Music. After concentrating on performance I focused on songwriting all the while playing solo gigs around the Boston area. Wanting to expand into a band I was lucky enough to meet the original members who came from Spain and Brazil. Each of them brought a myriad of musical influences spanning genres such as rock, latin, blues, and jazz all which fit perfectly with the music I was writing.

Over the past five years some of the personel has changed but the influences remain the same. Sting, Freddie King, Dave Matthews, and Jamiroquai are all artists which have helped to inspire me as a writer and player. As a band we've recorded two full length albums and I've also recorded a solo cd. We have a list of over 50 original songs from which to draw from.

We take great pride in our studio work but it's our live shows that truly demonstrate who we are as musicians. We've played clubs all around the Eastern Massachusetts area such as The Avalon, Paradise Rock Club, and The House of Blues along with venues in Vermont and Maine. MCG brings high energy and professionalism to each show that we play. We have an uncompromising passion for the music that seems to pass from the stage to those listening.
